Pawsome Dogs - Terms & Conditions & Privacy Policy

By booking an appointment and/or ticking the consent box at checkout, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to the following Terms & Conditions.
This agreement forms a contract between Pawsome Dogs (“the Salon”) and the pet owner or authorised representative (“the Owner”).

1. Owner Declaration

By booking an appointment, the Owner confirms that:
  • All information provided regarding the pet’s health, behaviour and history is true and accurate.
  • The Salon has been informed of any medical conditions, allergies, recent surgeries, behavioural issues, bite history or sensitivities.
  • The pet is fit and healthy to undergo grooming unless otherwise disclosed.
  • The pet is up to date with vaccinations or appropriate titre testing.
  • The Owner accepts full financial responsibility for any veterinary treatment required during or after the appointment.
Failure to disclose relevant information may result in refusal of service and/or additional charges.

2. Veterinary Care & Emergencies

While every care and precaution is taken, grooming may expose or aggravate underlying health conditions.
  • The Owner authorises Pawsome Dogs to seek veterinary treatment if deemed necessary during the appointment.
  • Every reasonable effort will be made to contact the Owner first.
  • All veterinary fees and associated costs remain the Owner’s responsibility.
  • The Salon is not liable for the outcome of veterinary treatment sought on the pet’s behalf.

3. Pet & Groomer Safety

Grooming involves sharp tools and close handling. Salon Responsibilities:
  • Services will be carried out professionally and humanely.
  • Appropriate industry safety equipment (grooming loops, restraints, muzzles where necessary) may be used.
  • The Salon reserves the right to refuse, stop or modify a groom if a pet becomes aggressive, excessively stressed, unwell or poses a safety risk.
Owner Responsibilities:
  • Owners must disclose any history of aggression or biting.
  • If a groom is stopped due to behavioural or welfare concerns, the Owner remains responsible for payment for time and services already provided.
Minor nicks, clipper irritation or scratches can occasionally occur, particularly with matted, wriggly or sensitive dogs. While every care is taken, such minor incidents are considered inherent risks of grooming.

4. Clip-Off / Matted Coat Policy

Regular grooming is essential for your dog’s health and welfare. Severely matted coats can cause:
  • Skin irritation and inflammation
  • Hot spots
  • Bacterial or fungal infections
  • Parasites (fleas, ticks, maggots)
  • Restricted circulation
  • Pain and bruising beneath the coat
Owner Acknowledgement
By booking, you acknowledge and agree that:
  • Additional charges apply for matted coats.
  • Short de-matting sessions may be attempted at an additional cost. Payment is required whether or not full de-matting is achieved.
  • Excessive de-matting can cause pain and distress. In the interest of welfare, clipping/shaving may be the only humane option.
  • You authorise Pawsome Dogs to clip/shave the coat close to the skin where necessary.
You understand that removing a heavily matted coat may:
  • Reveal pre-existing skin conditions
  • Cause redness, irritation or clipper rash
  • Expose sores, wounds or parasites
  • Result in temporary behavioural changes
Due to the nature of matted coats, there is an increased risk of minor nicks, cuts or abrasions during the clipping process. While every care is taken, you agree not to hold Pawsome Dogs liable for conditions revealed or irritation caused as a direct result of removing a severely matted coat.
Refusal to allow clipping of a severely matted coat may result in the appointment being declined on welfare grounds.

5. Parasites & Infectious Conditions

If fleas, ticks or other parasites are discovered:
  • Grooming may be stopped immediately.
  • Treatment will be carried out at the Owner’s expense.
  • The Owner agrees to pay any additional cleaning, decontamination or lost business costs incurred by the Salon.
While strict hygiene procedures are followed, Pawsome Dogs cannot guarantee that pets will not contract infections or parasites, and accepts no liability in such cases.

6. Senior & Medically Vulnerable Pets

Senior pets and those with medical conditions are groomed at the Owner’s risk.
  • Grooming may be physically stressful.
  • Age-related reactions or complications may occur.
  • Shorter or modified grooms may be recommended.
The Owner agrees not to hold Pawsome Dogs responsible for age-related incidents or underlying medical conditions that arise during or after grooming.

7. Ultrasonic Teeth Cleaning (Emmi-Pet)

Ultrasonic teeth cleaning is a cosmetic hygiene service and is not a veterinary procedure.
  • Results vary depending on the dog’s existing dental condition.
  • This service is intended to help reduce plaque, tartar and bacteria.
  • Minor redness or sensitivity of the gums may occur.
  • The Salon will stop treatment immediately if loose teeth, oral injuries, foreign objects or abnormalities are observed.
  • The Salon does not diagnose dental disease.
  • This service does not replace professional veterinary dental treatment or scale and polish under anaesthetic.
The Owner accepts that:
  • Severely diseased teeth may require veterinary attention.
  • The Salon is not liable for pre-existing dental disease, loose teeth that dislodge naturally, or conditions revealed during cleaning.
  • It is the Owner’s responsibility to seek veterinary advice where necessary.

8. DIY / Self-Service Wash Facilities

Where the Salon provides a self-service or DIY wash facility, the following applies:
  • All equipment is used entirely at the Owner’s risk.
  • The Owner is fully responsible for handling and controlling their dog at all times.
  • The Salon does not provide supervision unless explicitly agreed.
  • The Owner accepts responsibility for any injury to themselves, their dog, other persons or property while using the facilities.
  • The Owner agrees to use equipment correctly and follow all safety instructions provided.
  • Children must not use equipment and must be supervised at all times.
  • Any damage caused to equipment or facilities due to misuse may be charged to the Owner.
The Salon accepts no liability for injury, accident, loss or damage arising from use of the self-service facilities except where caused by proven negligence.

9. Cancellations, Late Arrivals & No-Shows

We require a minimum of 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule.
  • Less than 24 hours’ notice: 50% of appointment fee.
  • No show: 100% of appointment fee.
  • Late arrivals may result in a shortened groom or cancellation with applicable charges.
  • Outstanding balances must be paid before future appointments are booked.
  • Deposits may be required at the Salon’s discretion.

10. Collection Policy

Pets must be collected promptly at the agreed time.
  • Late collection may incur additional daycare charges.
  • If a pet is not collected and no contact can be made, the Salon reserves the right to contact emergency contacts or relevant authorities to ensure the pet’s welfare.

11. Price Adjustments

The Salon reserves the right to amend service prices at any time. Prices may vary depending on:
  • Coat condition (including matting)
  • Behaviour and handling requirements
  • Size, breed or coat type
  • Time required to complete the groom
  • Additional services requested
Any significant price increases will be communicated in advance where possible. Quotes provided are estimates only and final pricing will be confirmed after assessment of the dog at the appointment.

12. Photography & Marketing

Photographs may be taken for record keeping and marketing. Images may be used on:
  • Website
  • Social media
  • Promotional materials
If you do not wish your pet’s image to be used, you must inform the Salon in writing prior to the appointment.

13. Insurance

Pawsome Dogs holds appropriate Public Liability and Care, Custody & Control insurance.

14. Limitation of Liability

By agreeing to these Terms & Conditions, the Owner releases Pawsome Dogs from liability for:
  • Undisclosed medical or behavioural conditions
  • Pre-existing health conditions
  • Age-related complications
  • Minor grooming-related irritation or accidental nicks
  • Effects resulting from removal of matted coats
  • Stress-related conditions during or after grooming
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where exclusion is not permitted by law.

15. Force Majeure

Pawsome Dogs shall not be liable for failure to perform services due to circumstances beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to power failure, extreme weather, illness, government restrictions or emergencies.

16. Amendments

Pawsome Dogs reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Updated versions will apply to future bookings.
